I just came across this awesome photograph and my New York memories came flooding back.We had such an amazing time on the two occassions that we have been and I yearn to go back! When we were leaving last time David said he could imagine us living and working there.....a loft in Greenwich village please! Via Ffffound and Flickr
OMG!!! I was just surfing away and I stumbled across this gorgeous specimen! It is the Finn Juhl Chieftain chair designed in 1948 and I gasped when I saw it! It's so beautiful yet at the same time almost ugly.Fewer than eighty of the original chairs were produced by the Danish furniture maker, Niels Vodder. Chair designs never cease to amaze me...
You know when someone asks you who would you like to invite to a dinner party alive or dead, well I would love to be able to invite Charles and Ray Eames. I'm sure the other guests ( Kenneth Williams, Marilyn Monroe, Andy Warhol, Madonna and Stephen Fry ) would be bored stupid with me talking about chairs all night but hey it's my dinner party after all! I'll just have to make do with looking at these Eames chairs instead. Who would you invite?......
I'm not sure why but I have a real thing for rich greens at the moment!?? I've never been a great lover, infact I was more of a great hater! I remember when David and I first got together that his hallway was painted the exact same green as in the kitchen pic above and I loathed it with a vengance, it wasn't long before I painted over the whole lot with white....it took about 5 coats of good paint to cover it!! Anyway I keep eyeing up the wall where the hob is in our kitchen thinking it would look great with the new white handle-less look of the units when they are done. Will I...won't I??....you will just have to wait and see but knowing me I will wait until David is away for the night and just do it!!!
