Instant Calendar giveaway!...

I've designed a bright and colourful calendar for 2012...where did 2011 go!?!? It's a large 45 x 70 cm poster print and features the lovable Polaroid camera and is available in my Yumalum shop.

The Impossible giveaway...

The day has arrived that I can announce some very exciting news that I have been bursting to tell you all for the last few months.

I was contacted by The Impossible Project regarding my Polaroid inspired prints and the possibility of selling them in their New York store. I was extremely excited about the prospect and incredibly flattered. This then evolved into the idea of doing an exclusive Impossible version and here it is.

If you haven't heard of The Impossible Project (then where have you been!?) they are the team of people who in 2008 saved the very last Polaroid production plant for integral instant film in Enschede (NL) and started to invent and produce totally new instant film materials for traditional Polaroid cameras. In 2010 Impossible saved analog instant photography from extinction by releasing various brand new and unique instant films. By doing so more than 300,000,000 perfectly functioning Polaroid cameras were saved from becoming obsolete.

The print is now available for $75 in their New York store in SoHo but if you can't make it there and would like one then this could be your lucky day because...yes...we are giving one away!

Mad about the Men...again...

I'm missing Mad Men so much! Are you!? I cannot wait for it to be gracing our screens again. I wonder if there is a therapy group for withdrawal?...

Anyhoo, I've wanted to create a Mad Man inspired print for a while now and here it is. It's available as a print at the moment but will soon be available as a 50cm x 70cm poster in my Etsy shop Yumalum. It can also vbe viewed/framed either way up.

I took the photographs of the Chrysler Building and The Empire State Building used in the design when we were last in New York. We may be going again in May...

Are you a Jackie or a Marilyn?...

...I've just bought this fantastic Mad Men inspired poster which is a collaboration between Print Mafia and Hero Design Studio.

It is the second print in their ongoing Mad Men series and is a tribute to episode six of season two called "Maidenform". The poster is a two colour silkscreen and is 16" x 20". It can be hung either way up to reflect your inner Marilyn or Jackie.

The poster cost $25 and each one is signed and numbered but be quick because there are only 150 available!

I think I may be a Marilyn...which one are you?

Poster crush...

...I swooned when I came across these gorgeous vintage Knoll posters/advertisments. They were designed by the Swiss designer Herbert Matter. There is a timelessness about them just like the design classics that they are showcasing. They still look as fresh and vibrant as when they were designed.

Herbert Matter was a design consultant for Knoll from 1946 - 1966 and was responsible for the Knoll logo, numerous advertisements, posters and the catalogue format.

Mad about Helvetica...

..whilst watching a recent episode of Mad Men (loving the new offices BTW!) I suddenly shouted to David (he was lounging on the sofa next to me) that there was a Helvetica poster in the background. I was ridiculously excited and David tried his best to look and sound interested.

Well Swiss Dots has produced a limited edition screenprint inspired by a 1960's promotional poster for the film "Helvetica". It is screenprinted by hand on archival 300gsm paper, A2 size in a numbered edition of 100 copies and each one is signed by the director Gary Hustwit. They are available to order here while stocks last at $150. I am so tempted...

I want to...

show you my new print. It's the follow up to "I want to rock with you" and will be available in my Etsy shop Yumalum in the next few days. I have no idea why people keep saying that I am obsessed with chairs!??...

I NEED THIS POSTER!!! Ok so Helvetica has had a bit of a backlash and it's supposedly the most over used typeface but I don't care! Perhaps there should be Helvetica Anonymous meetings?....Hi my name is Griffo and I'm addicted to Helvetica....

Have a colourful Christmas...

I have just come across the Christmas by colour poster by the Raw design Studio who asked people for what colours they really associate with Christmas insted of the usual reds, whites and greens. It's limited to just 500 and all profit goes to charity and I've just ordered mine!!!

I've been meaning to post pics of the fantastic posters I had from my mother for my birthday recently. I had lusted after them for a while so I was very pleased. "Chair Exam" and "Alphabet of design classics in grey" are available from Blueartstudio who have a 2 for 1 on all posters at the moment!
