For the love of Apple...

I'm in love with my new Apple Magic Mouse! It really is magic because it has no scolley ball like the other one I had which used to get clogged with dirt and not work properly....so annoying! It's all touch sensitive and so far has worked like a dream, I just want to keep scrolling through pages and look on in wonder and it looks so beautiful! *sigh*...

Friday feast...

A dollop of gorgeousness for Friday! It's nearly the weekend! Yay! The top rocking chair was designed by George Jenson and I'm loving the green! Next is the Robin Day daybed....I need one!!! I'm still on the hunt for the perfect sideboard, this beauty was designed by Nils Jonsson. Last and by no means least is a Robin Day form Group sofa for Hille. have a great weekend everyone!

Music to David's ears...

Well after the chatter about who has the bigger addiction in this household David has gone and treated himself to yet more gadgets! This time it is the rather beautiful looking Sonos Touch Screen Controller and the Sonos ZP90 Zonplayer which for those who haven't come across them before are for playing music around the home wirelessly. Apparently it plugs into the amp in the lounge and away you go, it's probably not that simple but David sorts that kind of thing out and I just sit back and enjoy the benefits! We will be able to add more wireless speaker thingy wotsits in other rooms in the apartment and have the same or different music playing in each room which will be great for parties. It will be with us tomorrow so David is beside himself with excitement and he even paid slightly more so that he could get it delivered sooner! So do we need one?....no! Am I pleased that he has bought one? ....yes! Am I pleased that he is addicted to gadgets?....Sometimes....maybe...oh OK then yes I am!

Hi my name is Griffo and I'm a chair addict...

...Ooh that feels better! Yep I have another little beauty on it's way to me (teaser pic above)! Where will it all end? Well an apartment full of chairs with plenty of places to sit.....that's assuming that I actually let anyone use them of course. Why some people assume that they can plonk their arse on one of my chairs is beyond me!!! David was complaining when I said that I wanted another one but I reminded him of his total and utter addiction to gadgets and the fact that as soon as we got to our hotel in NYC he wanted to go and track down somewhere (namely Virgin in Times Square which had closed down but he didn't know , oh the look on his face, or Bestbuy) to pre-order a Zune. Of course he already has an i-Pod Touch and didn't need one but it doesn't stop him obsessing! Oh did I mention that we were outside the Bestbuy store at 9am queueing to pick up the said Zune and he made his way through that store like a lunatic! Hmmmmm......who has the bigger addiction problem?...

Sofa so f****** gorgeous!...

It has arrived and it's gorgeous!!! Although I had rushed to London Town to see it in the flesh and sit on it I was still nervous that we had made the right choice. We had been looking for so long for the perfect corner unit at the right price and the perfect colour grey that I had all but given up. Then I came across this beauty at Love your home for less and I was smitten. It really is very comfortable and most importantly (because he hadn't seen it for real before ordering it) David loves it.The charcoal grey fabric is the most perfect grey and it fits the space perfectly, the pics seem to make it look much smaller but believe me it's huge and there is plenty of room for us both to stretch out on it. The grey on the walls is a much more perfect match in real life too. We are two very happy customers!

Now we want to change the flooring which was put down by me when we first moved in eight years ago but the upheaval will be monumental! We have discussed the possibility of a polished concrete floor which would look amazing and even though we are living in an apartment our floors are concrete underneath so there wouldn't be an issue of weight etc.
I have also at last decided how I am going to change the units under the TV because we desperately need more storage space and to hide the ever growing collection of David's gadgets!!!

Pillow talk...

While battling through the maze of mayhem which is Urban Outfitters in Manhattan looking for the Girard LOVE cushion I spotted these little beauties. They are in the Alexander Girard range but were not listed on the website. The design is called "Geometric E" and on first spotting them they literally took my breath away, I instantly bought one and then ended up speeding across town in a cab to buy a second one! I only know the name of the design because David bought me the "Alexander Girard designs for Herman Miller" book by Leslie Pina (which is fantastic BTW!!!) this week for my birthday. Why haven't I mentioned my birthday you may ask???......because I'm not happy with my age that's why! Regardless of that I had a great day and I received very thoughtful presents including a Mont Blanc wallet and money towards yet another Eames upholstered chair that I have my beady chair addicted eye on...

LOVE and the city...

Well we are back from NYC but I have been a bit slack with my blogging so my apologies to one and all! I haven't been well since our return either with a possible case of swine flu, although I will never know if it was or not because my doctor told me not to go into the surgery but I am on the mend slowly.
Anyway as you can see I managed to get my hands on an Alexander Girard LOVE cushion from Urban Outfitters in NYC  which I am very pleased with, it goes perfectly on my grey Eames rocker.I also picked up a couple of other Girard cushions for our bed and other bed spreads and cushions for a couple of friends, my suitcase and bag was bursting with home accessories! I did find Urban Outfitters rather odd though, both of the shops that we went to were very badly arranged and the rather young staff who loved themselves far too much seemed rather disappointed that they had to actually do some work! It was if they were just there to chat and have a laugh with each other, they were like some kids from FAME who believed that one day fame would be knocking on their door, I was expecting them to break into song and start singing "High Fidelity"!!!

Anyway we had a fantastic time and we didn't want to leave and we will definitely be going back to the city we have totally fallen in love with. I have more pics to post, stories to tell about celeb spotting and our day hanging around a movie shoot....there is a clue in the title of this post....

Oh and also our new sofa has arrived which is absolutely gorgeous so there will be pics very soon...
