K Day...

It's here!!!!!!!! Yes finally the day has arrived and the new kitchen is in my hands!!! I'm so excited that I feel quite nauseous! As you can see there are boxes everywhere and I have included a shot of the drawer fronts in all their glory. I'm very impressed with the look and quality of it and I cannot wait to get it all done now. I will keep you all posted with pics along the way and now I'm off to start pulling things apart!!! WOO HOO!!!

New York memories...

I just came across this awesome photograph and my New York memories came flooding back.We had such an amazing time on the two occassions that we have been and I yearn to go back! When we were leaving last time David said he could imagine us living and working there.....a loft in Greenwich village please! Via Ffffound and Flickr

Four more sleeps...

....until we have the new kitchen delivered!! It feels like the build up to Christmas or when I was waiting for our Eames lounger to be delivered (we had to wait about three months and that really was unbearable!!). We had the first bit of work done today which was a new cooker point put in for the new oven and now there is grey dust from the drilling everywhere .....one shade of grey that I am not keen on in this flat! So here I wait for the giant puzzle to arrive...

Perfect Pantone...

We have had two anniversaries in the last two weeks, it's been nine years since my partner (we got married in a civil ceremony in 2007) David and I got together after knowing each other for three years. He bought me the Pantone cufflinks and keyring above and I was so pleased, he has learnt and listened well. He can now go out into the world and be confident that what he is buying me I will like! LOL! Having this blog helps him enormously though because It's like a big catalogue of everything I like so if your partner constantly gets it wrong or buys you useless crap then my advice would be to start a blog!

One year ago today...

...obsessilicious was born! I can't believe it....where has the time gone!? I've really enjoyed it and I really hope that you have. Blogging is so weird because half of the time it feels like I'm talking to myself, almost like talking out loud and there is noone else in the room or putting pen to paper and then there it is for all the world to see. My obsessions still get the better of me and inside of my head it's like a non stop conveyor belt of gorgeousness....thank god someone invented the internet to feed my daily fix! Imagine a world without the intenet, how did we all cope!? Anyhoo, thank you to my followers and all the people who drop by......happy obsessing!!!

A new print variation using the rocker which will soon be available. I could design prints using chairs forever more....

Cushion envy...

I posted a couple of weeks ago about my sisters new Etsy shop Feltlove and I mentioned that she would be making felt cushions.....well here it is and what a beauty!! All of the felt is handmade by her which i am still very impressed by. I am still deciding on what colour to have, maybe grey or sage green or teal or.........The cushions will be available very soon. I wonder if I will get a discount!!?.....

Desk tidy...

My lovely lovely friend Wiz has bought a gorgeous desk and I now have desk envy! She asked my opinion on three in total and this one was my choice (one of the other ones looked like a strange mid century piano!! LOL!). If you look closely it has a rather nice hidden drawer in the front. I also have Conran lamp envy......Jason chair envy......sigh......oh and the small pot is also gorgeous! The bird print is a very cleverly framed tea towel by Skinny Laminx. Damn that woman and her fantastic taste!! LOL!

Stopped in my tracks...

OMG!!! I was just surfing away and I stumbled across this gorgeous specimen! It is the Finn Juhl Chieftain chair designed in 1948 and I gasped when I saw it! It's so beautiful yet at the same time almost ugly.
Fewer than eighty of the original chairs were produced by the Danish furniture maker, Niels Vodder. Chair designs never cease to amaze me...

Kitchen countdown...

Yes it's two weeks today until we will receive delivery of the minimal, white, handleless, deliciousness of our new kitchen!!! We have had to wait for seven weeks so far and I'm chomping at the bit now....I want it, I need it, I crave it!!! No doubt there will be parts missing or damage to something and then I have the job of putting it all together. We are having a new larder unit and the rest is just replacing the doors, drawers and side panels. I shall just stare at the beautiful space in the above pic while I impatiently wait......sigh......

Rock on...

I have wanted to design a print using an Eames rocker for a while...so here it is! It will be available in different colour combinations and will be available very soon.

UPDATE...They are now available in my Etsy shop yumalum! :)

Dream spaces 28...

I'm feeling a lot calmer now but I would love to be relaxing in this restful house in the middle of the french countryside, not for long though....I'm a true city boy through and through and I start to get the shakes if I'm more than five minutes from a Supermarket!. Moon mood madness...

It's that time of the month again, the time of the month when I feel ever so slightly insane! The pull of the full moon is strong and it gets me every time, there is no use trying to ignore it's power in the week leading up to it! I become impatient, argumentative and I could quite easily run out into the middle of the road and scream my head off! I'm off to find some lipstick to smear all over my face like Diane Ladd in the David Lynch film "Wild at Heart".....see you on the other side.....

Typeface porn....

I NEED THIS POSTER!!! Ok so Helvetica has had a bit of a backlash and it's supposedly the most over used typeface but I don't care! Perhaps there should be Helvetica Anonymous meetings?....Hi my name is Griffo and I'm addicted to Helvetica....

Keyboard catastrophe...

.....I just came across this vision of sheer beauty and nearly spat coffee all over my Apple keyboard!!! OMG it is total and utter table porn, my palpitations have calmed down a little now but it's not good for my blood pressure. My doctor always warns me about my smoking but I think she would think I was a bit strange if I was to tell her about my other addictions! Designed by Marcus Sjögerén & Jonas Ohlsso at Mobelverket. I'm feeling a little dizzy....

Road to addiction.....

Joel over at Blueartstudio has a new poster for 2009.I don't think he should design any more because I have so many of them already that I am quickly running out of wall space and it's not good for my chair addiction! I'm loving the top right sign for no plastic chairs! LOL!

Tulips in springtime...

....well it feels like springtime and I love these chairs so hence the title of this post! We have Series 7's around our dining table which I adore but I still lust after Eero Saarinen's tulip chairs, they just seem to have a timeless and elegant aura about them. Don't get me started on the oval dining table.....that is just table porn!!! One day I will have one......
